Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper hovering near a crowded coastal beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Recordings posted online depict the chopper beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm groves and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders reported five people were taken to hospital comprising two individuals who were in the aircraft and were ârescued from the debrisâ following the crash on that day.
Three people on the road were injured. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
