Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Report

Paramount Skydance will initiate large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August worth $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, with the company aiming to reveal complete information via its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount planned to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.

By December 2024, the organization retained about 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
